Your local foster care office – Lancashire
Welcome to the Swiis team in Lancashire.
Our office in St Mary’s Chambers, Lancaster was set up in 2010 as a secondary office to our Manchester office ensuring we have a wider reach in the North West.
We were proud to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection in 2011.
We hold support groups for carers on a monthly basis, including two “Forward Together” groups. Our “Forward Together” groups give looked after young people aged 13+ a chance to share their experiences of fostering and to join in with activities focussing on developing self-esteem and independence.
We also have a COFC (Children of Foster Carers) group which meets regularly throughout the year. This activity based group offers support to the children of foster carers, giving them the chance to interact with peers who are also part of fostering families and to address issues for children and young people with regard to fostering. The group is open to all children of foster carers aged 7+.

Every year we host a fun day for all our carers, children and young people, including a variety of activities and games, as well as a BBQ. We also have an annual Christmas party, open to all carers, children and young people. These events give our carers, their families and the Swiis staff a chance to interact and socialise with each other, as well as sharing their fostering experiences.
