Project Description

Julie’s story, Leeds

“I had considered fostering for many years, although I felt it was not the right time as I had my own young child. When my daughter was old enough I decided to apply. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

I have been fostering with Swiis for three years and my experience is with babies and young children with diverse needs and backgrounds. I find fostering very rewarding, although there are and have been challenges along the way. The support and advice that I have received from my supervising social worker has been invaluable.

The training is delivered in a very relaxed atmosphere; the Swiis trainers are supportive and extremely approachable. The additional training has been extremely beneficial and continues to assist me with the foster children.

I have found that having a health adviser in-house beneficial as this has given me the opportunity to raise any queries I have quickly. Swiis offers an excellent service and the team are really supportive.”

“It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”
