On December 17th a group of six children and young people, carers and staff went ice skating in Bristol for a Christmas participation event. We skated to some disco tunes underneath the beautifully decorated tree at the Millennium Square. Some of us had never skated before but bravely took to the ice and gave it a try. One carer showed off some very impressive skills she had learned as a child. Two children also managed to do the Mannequin Challenge on the ice. A few of us took a fall, but everyone got straight back up and kept skating – well done for the effort!

We then had lunch, where we re-energized with some delicious salads, pizza, and, most importantly, dessert! Although we all gave our best, we could not quite finish all of the food. With some very tired legs and full bellies, we all went home.

A big thank you to everyone who came to the event and most importantly, gave skating a try. We hope to see you again soon in the new year!
