Before the years end, we held the last two South Region office Christmas participation events of the year.
On December 21st a group of ten young people, four carers and three staff went to Ten Pin in Exeter to do some bowling. Everyone did incredibly well and knocked down most of the pins. One carer showed off some especially impressive skills and had the highest score twice. In between games, we all had a burger and some fries to keep us going. Everyone remarked how much fun they had and that they especially liked meeting and interacting with other families.
On the 22nd we went to the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton to watch a production of ‘Robin Hood’. Fifteen young people and eight carers attended the show which was very funny and entertaining. We watched legendary Robin Hood, played by former EastEnders star Shane Richie, try to win the hand of the beautiful Maid Marion while he and his trusty band of Merry Men outwit the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. There were a lot of funny jokes and even a 3D-section featuring spiders and snakes, which was just a little bit scary and resulted in a lot of screaming from the audience.
We hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the Christmas participation events and would like to thank you all for attending.
