We have been getting in the Christmas spirit in the Swiis South Region as two participation events took place in the Forest of Dean and London. Our participation days are a great way to get everyone together, especially during the Christmas period.

Christmas Fantasy at Clearwell CavesFor our first event, we enjoyed the Christmas Fantasy at Clearwell Caves. We followed the story of ‘Cora and the Bloobious Bright’ in an exciting journey to discover if they will enjoy a Happy Christmas. All through the beautifully decorated caves, were plenty of gifts, Christmas trees and displays to illustrate the adventures of Cora. The children also had a chance to meet Santa in his underground cavern and received a gift at the end of the visit. We visited the underground Christmas stalls and ended our day with a lunch at the on-site café. It was a great underground adventure for all.

Our second event was at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. A big group of 30 foster carers and children enjoyed the festivities and attractions. We started off with a visit to The Magical Ice Kingdom where we entered a ‘Deep Sea Adventure’ and enjoyed the frozen world of mermaids, gods and sea creatures. Luckily, we had all dressed up warmly as it was -10°C. The children and young people then received tokens to try out the different rides on site.

Later, we met up to watch ‘Zippos Circus’. The show was in a heated tent and everyone enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and the entertaining acts. After a long and eventful day, families made their way back home, having been able to catch up with other foster carers and children. Some of which also made new friends along the way.
