Our History

An introduction from our Chairman, Dev Dadral:

Dev-Dadral-thumb“Having held senior management positions in local authority social services departments, I founded Swiis in 1988 to initially respond to the need of Local Authorities for quality experienced qualified social workers.

Due to the development of many successful and productive professional relationships with social services departments across London, Swiis has since been able to expand its range of services in both social and health care. As part of this development, in 1999 I established Swiis Foster Care into the Swiis portfolio.

My vision for setting up Swiis Foster Care was, and remains, to meet the growing need for quality assured placements, offering the highest standards of care for children and young people whilst providing real placement choice for local authorities. My expectation of Swiis Foster Care is that in addition to exceeding all of the National Standards, our foster homes should be places where I would be happy for my own children to stay.

Experience to date has been very positive with real differences being made to the life chances of children placed with us. Our Health and Educational Outcomes significantly out-perform the national LAC Outcomes both from within the public and independent sectors.

I believe that our commitment to putting children at the centre of all we do and working in genuine partnership with local authorities to improve the wellbeing of children and society at large permeates throughout every aspect of the Swiis organisation.

I am immensely proud of the positive impact that Swiis has had on the communities we have served over the years and I look forward, along with the entire Swiis team, to contributing further as we endeavour to expand the demography of our services and provide outstanding care across the breadth of the United Kingdom.

Speaking as the owner and Chairman of Swiis, I can confidently state that we are staffed by many of the finest practitioners in the country, from our support staff to our front line employees everyone is absolutely committed to delivering the finest standards of service which are based upon best practice, empathic considerations and compassion. These ideals have always been at the heart of our organisation and will continue to be so for all time.”
